He is an older man and works as an innkeeper on the island. He usually helps [[Brick]], the tavern owner, with brewing on the weekends. He is friends with [[Lem]] and plays darts with him, although Lem is better. [[Lem]] once helped Rod home when he was drunk.{{book ref|totes|7}}
