This page is a place where I gather all the Hoid WoBs that are useful, then interpret it with *speculation*.

Hoid is the Antagonist

This theory postulates that Hoid is going to be the main antagonist of the overarching cosmere, with his end goal being the reformation of Adonalsium with himself as the Vessel by collecting all the Dawnshards and being able to use Investiture from every Shard.

• He declined to take up a Shard because he did not wish to be confined.
• He told Dalinar that he would see Roshar itself destroyed to get what he needed
• He is trying to join as many types of Investitures, and therefore bits of Shards, together, as possible--sort of reforming Adonalsium.
• Brandon has RAFOed questions about if Adonalsium could be re-formed.
• It's possible--in fact, Hoid thinks it himself--that he might end up as the big villain of the story.
• A hint at Hoid's quest is "to make that which once was." Adonalsium once was.
• There's a RAFO on if Syl left Kaladin temporarily because he was about to meet Hoid. I know that if I was a tiny bit of a god and my best friend was about to have a fireside chat with a power-hungry demon, I wouldn't be able to watch. Of course, it might just be the fact that Sadeas's lack of honor was painful to her, so there's that, I guess.
