When speaking Alethi or Veden, one feature of the Unkalaki 'accent' is a tendency to use gendered pronouns (e.g. "he") in places where a non-gendered pronoun ("it") would be more appropriate{{book ref|sa2|24}}. This is due to the fact the Unkalki Language uses [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammatical_gender grammatical gender]. This system appears to be Masculine–feminine contrast, with most nouns leaning towards masculine.{{wob ref|8540}}
