A knight, for example, is strongest when attached to a bindpoint whereas a creature with long teeth and claws is better at attacking. Likewise an amphorus blob can take a number of hits from Lines of Vigor but moves slowly whereas a creature with many legs can move quickly but isn't as strong when attacking.[1]
Glyphs
There is a wide variety of glyphs that are used to "program" chalklings. The sequence of glyphs tells the chalkling what to do, in what order to do it, and how long to do it. They are written beside the chalkling they are to instruct and disappear when the chalkling begins to follow them. Many glyphs have a variety of forms but some do have a standardized shape. A number written beneath a glyph determines how many heartbeats that glyph should remain in effect.[2]
- Go
- An arrow pointing in the direction to be traveled.
- Attack
- An "X" shape.
- Wait
- A horizontal line perpendicular to the direction of travel.
- Turn
- An acute angle with an arrow pointing in the direction of the turn.[2]
- Defend
- A diamond shape, it instructs bound chalklings to patrol the area around the bindpoint they are tethered to and attack any chalkling not bound to the same circle as it.[3]
- Glyph of Rending
