A fifteen year old student named Asinthew, who is also known as Waxillium Ladrian, asks him about past violence in the Village. Tellingdwar tells him about a murder that happened fifteen years ago, when a Terrisman killed his wife with a gun of unknown origin.{{book ref|bom|Prologue}} Tellingdwar knew the couple personally. He tells Wax that Terris are no better than other men.{{book ref|bom|Prologue}}
