David spends a day brooding that he will be kicked out of the Reckoners. The following day, David talks with Prof as the others plan to go on a mission to take down Newton. Prof says that David was bait the whole time and that it will take time for David to regain everyone's trust. Prof says they plan to use a forcefield to deal with Obliteration, and that he will have to deal with the side effects of great usage of his power to do so. David implores Prof to verify if Megan was telling the truth about her weakness to show that she is trustworthy. Prof getsloses angryhis temper and chokesattacks David, and tellschoking him. He says that heDavid shouldshouldn't have beenconcealed morehis opencommunication insteadwith ofMegan meetingand Meganthat inhe sees this as a personal secretbetrayal. David speculates that Regalia may be resisting the darkness and urges Prof saysto reconsider his plans. Prof replies that kind of optimistic talk is bad for him, andbecause thatit David hasencourages him believingto falselyuse andhis thatpowers carelessly. Prof istells givingDavid inabout bythe usingteam hisof powerssuperheroes he and beingRegalia destroyedattempted slowlyto form during the early days of Calamity. ProfHe saysexplains theythat triednone thisof inthem other than himself were able to hold back the pastdarkness and that he hadeventually was forced to kill one of his former Epic colleagues and that another turned evilfriends. Prof alsothen says that theythe Reckoners are going to trap and kill Megan. David begs him not to go through with it and tries to explain his theory about a pattern among Epic weaknesses. Prof locksignores Davidthis aloneand traps David in histhe conference room using a forcefield,. andA few minutes later, David sees the sub leave the base.
