Though there has been no direct confirmation of which [[Shard]] Rayse is bonded too, it is widely believed that he is [[Odium]].
Much of the speculation comes from [[The Letter]], in which the author states that Rayse, before taking a shard, was "one of the most loathsome, crafty, and dangerous individuals I had ever met."
The letter also state, "He holds the most frightening and terrible of all of the Shards."
This, combined with the [[Almighty]]'s revelation at the end of [[The Way of Kings]] that Odium is responsible for his death and the letter implying that Rayse killed [[Aona]] and [[Skai]], two other Shards from [[Sel]], form the core of this theory.
