I wouldn't rely on that WoB to say the guess of Mercy for Aona is specifically what Brandon found ironic--he doesn't specify what he found ironic and it seems much more likely to me that it was the guess of Devotion for Skai's Shard

RoW chapter 27 epigraph says "where Ambition, Mercy, and Odium clashed—and Ambition was destroyed" implying the battle that Mercy was involved in was likely the one where Ambition was Splintered, not the earlier one mentioned in the AU Threnody essay where Ambition was "mortally wounded"

Capitalization; I think the RoW is the better ref for it being the battle where Ambition was Splintered since Mercy isn't mentioned in the AU Threnody essay

We use the gender-neutral "they" if a character's gender is unknown (even when talking about a Shard in general rather than their Vessel; see also Special:Diff/140659); consensus is that this is the most respectful and accurate pronoun and that, generally, "it" should only be used as a pronoun for people who are specifically shown to use it (e.g. the Sleepless)
