When the coalition of monarchs decided to mount an offensive against Emul, Omal was part of Yanagawn's team that led the Azish armies. In 1175, after Taravangian's betrayal, enemy Veden forces planned an offensive intending to rescue Taravangian and destroy the coalition's supplies. Dalinar (with advice from Dieno) was able to anticipate the Veden actions and warn the Azish, allowing them to prepare for the attack and decimate the opposition. Omal complimented Dalinar on his military strategy and his leadership on the battlefield. sa4

When the coalition of monarchs decided to mount an offensive against Emul, Omal accompanied Yanagawn and the other members of the party from Azir. He complimented Dalinar both on how he had warned the coalition of Taravangian's treachery before it occurred and on how he had led troops in battle. Omal reported that almost all of the Vedens who had betrayed them had been eliminated and expressed satisfaction that they had not been able either to rescue Taravangian or to destroy the coalition's supplies.sa4
