Lerasium was created by Leras.{{wob ref|6046}} Rashek collected the beads,{{wob ref|140}} after taking the power of Preservation at the [[Well of Ascension]], and used them to entice foreign kings to become his ally.{{wob ref|8001}} He left two beads near the Well, for reasons unknown.
However, neither of these beads were used prior to the fall of the Final Empire. One bead was fed to Elend to save his life after being attacked by [[Leras]], who's hand was directed by [[Kelsier]], in an attempt to prevent [[Vin]] from releasing Ruin from the Well. The other was stolen and consumed by [[Hoid]], after he used the Well to transition from the Cognitive Realm to the Physical.{{wob ref|12210}}
== Trivia ==
*Alloying lerasium and atium after Preservation and Ruin combined will not give [[harmonium]]. While it would not be possible to get atium and lerasium from harmonium through distillation or other mundane methods, some supernatural means may be achievable.{{wob ref|12145}}
* If [[Harmony]] wanted to, he could produce more lerasium.{{wob ref|9713}}
*Lerasium looks almost like atium, except it is a different color.
