Tras abandonar el barco en llamas, irrumpió en el despacho del registrador del muelle. Se encontró con varios miembros del equipo de Shallan, pero ella pudo evitar ser detectada usando sus habilidades de [[Potenciación#Iluminación|tejido de luz]]. Kyril exigió saber por qué no se lo había informado de la llegada de humanos a la ciudad, pero el registrador encubrió al grupo, limitándose a responder que Kyril no le había pedido la información. El Fusionado ordenó al registrador que apagase el fuego y luego le dijo que sería despedido. Se marchó y voló hacia el mercado de la ciudad en busca de los humanos. Después de que el grupo se reuniera de nuevo, abordaron el ''[[Sendero de Honor]]'', a pesar de la condición de Syl como fugitiva entre los [[honorspren]]. Kyril regresó al puerto, pero no se acercó a su presa, aparentemente temeroso de la honorspren. Vio al grupo subir al barco, pero no lo siguió, sino que se alejó volando en otra dirección.{{book ref|sa3|102}} Es de suponer que transmitió lo que había visto a sus superiores, ya que posteriormente los Fusionados emprendieron una persecución a gran escala del ''Sendero de Honor''.{{book ref|sa3|108}}
After leaving the blazing ship, he stormed into the office of the dock registrar. He encountered several members of Shallan's team, but she was able to avoid detection using her [[Surgebinding#Illumination|Lightweaver]] abilities. Kyril demanded to know why he wasn't informed of humans arriving in the city, but the registrar covered for the group, only replying that Kyril hadn't asked him for the information. The Fused ordered the registrar to put out the fire, then told him he would be sacked. He left and flew towards the city market searching for the humans. After the group reconvened, they boarded the ''[[Honor's Path]]'', despite Syl's status as a fugitive among the [[honorspren]]. Kyril returned to the port, but did not approach his quarry, seemingly afraid of the honorspren. He saw the group board the ship, but he did not follow, instead flying away in a different direction.{{book ref|sa3|102}} He presumably relayed what he had seen to his superiors, as the Fused subsequently engaged in a large-scale pursuit of the ''Honor's Path''.{{book ref|sa3|108}}
