The Iri are not native to [[Roshar]]. They are on a journey that they call the "long trail", and have been to three planets before coming to Roshar. However, it is not known what those planets are, or when they came to Roshar.{{qa ref|1182|34}}
By the time of the [[Era of Solitude]], the
[[Axies the Collector]], an [[Aimian]], visits Iri to look for spren.{{book ref|twok|i|5}}
