After [[Ruin]] was released, Ham continued to help train soldiers and was present at the siege of [[Fadrex]] city. He was responsible for making Elend to decide not to release the [[Koloss]] on the city, one of the only cases where Ham decided to make a total decision. Ham survived the Ascension.
Ham had a wife and children, who he preferred to distance himself from while working on thieving jobs for their own protection, sometimes going months without seeing them. He was rejoined with them when [[Sazed]] moved the survivor's caves together.
