In Kaladin's third battle after leaving Hearthstone he faced the army of Hallaw and after losing the squad he was part of, he went to find [[Tien]], only to see him killed by the sword of one of Hallaw's Lighteyes.{{ref|b|sa1|c|67}} This battle was burned into Kaladin’s memory and soul.
