Contaban historias sobre las maravillas de Elantris y sus habitantes al pueblo llano. Se rumoreaba que eran agentes de los elantrinos, intentando revertir las opiniones negativas que algunos habitantes de las zonas rurales tenían sobre los elantrinos y su magia. El gremio cambió con el paso de los años, empezando a limitarse a recopilar historias de diversos pueblos y a registrarlas. La interpretación del aon Ene también evolucionó para representar la inteligencia erudita más general y el estudio, no sólo el ingenio; también fue cooptado por mercaderes y banqueros. They told stories about the marvels of Elantris and its inhabitants to the common people. It was rumored that they were agents of the Elantrians, trying to reverse negative opinions that some people in rural areas had about the Elantrians and their magic. The guild changed over the years, beginning to simply collect stories from various peoples and recording them. The interpretation of Aon Ene also evolved to represent more general scholarly intelligence and study, not just wit; it was also co-opted by merchants and bankers.
