Before the fight, Hammond confides to Kelsier that while Demoux's fighting abilities are not great, he is a trustworthy man but he is no match for Bilg in a fair fight. Assisted by Kelsier's [[Allomancy]], Demoux wins the fight and Kelsier seizes the moment to invigorate his troops by proclaiming that Demoux had the arcane arts the [[Lord Ruler]] possessed, that they all might possess. Though Kelsier attempts to kill Bilg through Demoux, Demoux resists, and Kelsier soon changes his mind, allowing Bilg to live.
Demoux is an [[atium]] [[Misting]].{{book ref|mb3|81}} he is more of a leader than a warrior. He was a general in [[Elend]]'s army and commanded it quite capably.{{book ref|mb3|8}}
