Described as old {{book ref|wb|5}} Dedelin wear simple oustere clothes despite being King of [[Idris]]. He has the Royal Locks keeping his hair black usually though showing enough lack of control to allow the red of anger and the white of fear tinge them at times. {{book ref|wb|1}}
He is an astute ruler and capable of putting the good of his kingdom before his own personal wishes as shown by his sending his daughter to honour the treaty with [[Hallandren]]. He is also shown to be thoughtful and decisive as he ponders over the political and military implications and seeks council, but once his mind is made up he acts decisively and cannot be persuaded to renege on his position.
He worships [[Austre]], God of Colours and considers the God King and the other [[Returned]] abominations. In accordance with these beliefs he considers the owning of Breath other than your own and Awakening wrong.{{book ref|wb|1}}
