At the behest of the Set, he sends assassins to kill [[Wayne]] and [[Marasi]] when they are looking for [[ReLuur]]'s missing spike in a graveyard in New Seran. After surviving the attack -- but not finding the spike -- Marasi finds his name in a ledger book at the graveyard, and they go to Fig's house to get information about where the spike is. Wayne impersonates "Death" and scares Fig into revealing the location of the retrieved spike. He had been ordered to retrieve it and send it on to [[Dulsing]].

Fig may be a worshiper of [[Trell]] since he uses the curse "Trell's soul!", which may indicate that he is a [[Trell]] worshiper.
