The [[Pantheon]] is an archipelago whose islands are revered by traditional [[Eelakin]]. The islands are home to a number of species with cognitive magic, most notably [[Aviar]]: birds who attract a cognitively-gifted birdsparasite, that seems to come from the birds themselves. These have been subjected to an increase in demand all over the planet, because very few people (only one is mentioned in the book) know that the gifts come from the parasites.
