La [[Potenciación#Abrasión|'''Abrasión''']] les da a los Portadores del Polvo la habilidad de alterar la fricción entre dos superficies. Una Radiante de esta orden usa la Abrasión para disminuir la fricción entre el [[Lagopuro]] y ella misma, lo que le permite atravesarlo sin obstáculos.{{book ref|sa2|4}} Los [[Orden de los Danzantes del Filo|Danzantes del Filo]] también usan esta Potencia para reducir la fricción entre sus cuerpos y otras superficies, permitiéndoles desplazarse a cualquier lugar con rapidez, y para hacer resbaladizos objetos para otras personas. {{book ref|sa2|i|9}} Lo más probable es que los Portadores del Polvo puedan usar la Abrasión de la misma forma, aunque no sabemos si pueden utilizar esta potencia para aumentar la fricción entre dos objetos.

Before the [[Day of Recreance]], many Dustbringers objected to the name of their order, as they felt it was too similar to "[[Voidbringers]]," and encouraged others to instead call them "Releasers,"{{epigraph ref|sa2|36}}{{wob ref|13774}} though most people still referred to them as "Dustbringers."{{wob ref|3607}} This naming preference may have been influenced by their spren, as [[Spark]] apparently passed it on to [[Malata]].{{book ref|sa3|24}} The Dustbringers were often misjudged by people because of the destructive nature of their powers,{{epigraph ref|sa2|36}} and even some of their fellow Knights Radiant felt they were "on the edge" and did not get along with them.{{wob ref|11988}} The Skybreakers, who often made sure the Radiants didn't abuse their power,{{wob ref|13773}} were particularly concerned about the Dustbringers, despite the fact that the two orders had much in common.{{wob ref|11988}}
