Crafty Games announced development of a Mistborn-themed board game on March 22, 2015.{{tweet ref|579812383519965184|date= Mar 22nd, 2015|text= Crafty Games announce Mistborn board game in development.}} Brandon, not being an extensive board gamer required them to bring in with a "proven track record" in the industry as he could not himself do quality control in the same way he could with the Mistborn Adventure Game.{{reddit ref|boardgames|4o8xly|d4bcsqg|text=Brandon comments on Mistborn: House War|date=Jun 16th, 2016}} A Kickstarter for the game was launched on June 15, 2016 that raised $339,973.<ref name=kickstarter />. The game was officially released on November 17th, 2016.
