Joel managed to run from the chalklings, seeking shelter at the office. Exton, the clerk and a cast off Rithmatist, helped Joel when he fell. Then Joel managed to escape to the gates of the academy where policeman waited.
After this incident the clerk Exton was arrested. Inspector Harding said he found evidences in Exton's desk, and even Professor Fitch seemed convinced. Joel, however, didn't believe that Exton was the perpetrator.
The next night Joel and Melody were confused because there were no police patrols. When they went to Melody's dormitory, they found the guarding police men unconscious on the ground. Joel sent Melody to look for help while he sneaked into the dorm. There he found Professor Nalizar.
Fitch, Melody, Joel and Nalazar are seen as heroes. Still everything is not what it seems. The evil truly had not been beaten.
