There is no current plan to publish the book, as Sanderson felt that it didn't strike a consistent tone between the almost Shakespearean comedy aspects and the utter destruction of the world.{{qa ref|1108|12}} As a result, elements have been incorporated into later works such as "Decay" becoming the [[Shard]] [[Ruin]] in the [[Mistborn series]].{{17s ref|post|16843}} An attempt was also made to adapt the Aethers into [[The Liar of Partinel]], but that was abandoned.{{qa ref|1094|45}}
