Silence's grandparents have at least one child of unknown gender. That child has a daughter, [[Silence Montane|Silence]].{{book ref|sfs}} It is unknown what happens to Silence's parents, but Silence is raised by her grandparents.
She was killed by [[shades]], afterwards being trapped in the waystop's shrine to the God Beyond by Silence. As a shade, she has never tried to attack Silence when enraged.
