Danlan had traveled to the Shattered Plains to spend a few months with her father, Brightlord Morakotha.{{book ref|twok|28}} The next day, she was already calling on Adolin. He arranged for her to become one of his father's clerks, managing his calls via [[spanreed]]s and serving as a scribe.
Danalan is part of [[Graves]]'s plot to kill the king and replace him with [[Dalinar]]. It can be assumed that she is a member of the [[Diagram]].{{book ref|wor|46}}
