[[Balat Davar]] originally missed communications with his sister, [[Shallan]], when she had acquired the [[Soulcaster]] because he had to attend a feast in their father's name. Sur Kamar was there, and Nan Balat implies Sur Kamar was an important enough person that he could not miss the feast, despite a day's worth of travel each way.
