Una niña vive en un pueblo rodeado por un muro increíblemente alto, del que nadie en el pueblo se da cuenta. El muro proyecta una sombra que mantiene al pueblo en una oscuridad continua. Ella pregunta y pregunta acerca del muro y qué es lo que no está dejando pasar, pero todos los aldeanos le dan la misma respuesta: "No pases al otro lado o morirás." Le dicen que fue construido para mantener alejados a los monstruos.
A girl lives in a village by an impossibly high wall, which nobody in the village acknowledges. The wall casts a shadow that leaves the village in darkness forever. She asks and asks about the wall, and what it keeps out, but the villagers all repeat the same reply: "Don't go beyond it or you'll probably die." They tell her it was built to keep the monsters out.
 
Ella escala el muro y cuando llega a la cima encuentra un mundo mejor, iluminado por [[luz tormentosa]]. Se da cuenta de que la gente de su pueblo son los monstruos, viviendo sin luz, y que el muro estaba allí para mantenerlos reprimidos. Roba algo de luz y se la lleva a su pueblo. She realizes that the people of her village were the monsters, living without light and the wall was to keep them contained. She steals some light and takes it back to her village. This act causes the storms to come and destroy the wall.
