[[Kelsier]] used the fountain square to stand up to the Lord Ruler and killed [[Bendal]] during a riot he began, and saved multiple prisoners from the false House [[Renoux]] as well as [[Spook]] from being executed there.{{ref|b|mb1|c|33}} The Lord Ruler killed him in the square,{{ref|b|mb1|c|34}} and after Rashek's death, the square became known as the Square of the Survivor as a dedication to Kelsier and his actions in the square.{{ref|b|mb1|c|36}}
